Specific Fonts for Horror Films

Using my previous post on film titles and looking at the new titles below, I am going to see if there is any pattern or consistency to the style of font that is commonly used in films from the horror genre.

Many of the fonts I have looked at for horror films are sans serif, though some are also serif (so I think either would work for the horror genre). More noticeably though, is the fact that the fonts are eroded somehow, scratched or distorted, with marks on them. 

I will aim to look for a font which is sans serif, and one that has scratches or is scuffed somehow, as if it has been partially destroyed or eroded.
