Analysing Horror Film Billing Blocks for My Poster
I need to create a billing block for my poster, so that it is as authentic as possible. On it I will feature crew who have consistently worked within the horror genre, alongside fictional actors. The names of the cast and crew will also feature in title cards on my trailers.
I have looked at two different billing blocks that are from film posters from the horror genre to analyse the typical names included in a billing block, and the order in which they appear.
I have also looked at the billing for the new horror film 'Hunt Her, Kill Her', to check if there is consistency.
Both billing blocks begin with the names of the production companies, before the title of the film. Next are the names of the main actors in the film, followed by members of the crew including editor, director of photography, production designer, composer, casting director and the films producers/executive producers. Towards the end of the billing are the writer whose book the film is based on, the scriptwriter and, finally, the director.
The billing block for another horror film, 'Saw V', follows a similar pattern.
