Closer Analysis of Theatrical Trailers - Conclusion

From watching the different theatrical trailers I have noticed that they are usually much longer (around two-and-a-half minutes) than other kinds of trailers, delivering far more narrative information and introducing characters and their traits.

Some of the conventions I have found, which I will include if I decide to make a theatrical trailer for my film, include:
  • Production company logos/idents at the beginning
  • Names of famous actors and crew (including the director)
  • Specific release date
  • Tagline
  • More narrative revealed
  • More shots and longer montages
  • Exciting/ dramatic music
  • Eye candy
  • The name of the film (at the end)
  • Credits
  • Social media/website
