Closer Analysis of Theatrical Trailers - Introduction

A theatrical trailer is a preview of an upcoming film. The purpose of a theatrical trailer is to generate excitement and interest in the film in the few weeks before the film is due to be released in cinemas, and to provide audiences with a glimpse of what they can expect when they see the movie. Theatrical trailers tend to show more of the plot and action from the film than the other types of trailer, alongside introducing the main characters and their traits. Theatrical trailers are usually around two-and-a-half minutes long.

I will be looking at the trical trailers for the films 'Babylon' and 'The Matrix'.
